"Ramona" is California's Official Outdoor Play, and America's longest continuously running drama. Staged annually in Hemet, California since 1923, the play is based on the 1884 novel "Ramona" by Helen Hunt Jackson.
We believe in the power of the arts to inspire and educate. That's why we offer a variety of educational programs for all ages, from after-school programs to summer camps to masterclasses with world-renowned artists.
Upcoming Workshops
Join us for FREE audition workshops on Saturday or Sunday, November 21st and 22nd at the Ramona Bowl in the Alessandro Room. These workshops, led by our Artistic Director Duane Minard, are designed to provide performers sixteen (16) years old and older with essential information on how to prepare for auditions.
Audition Application
If you're interested in auditioning for a part in "Ramona" for the 2025 season, please fill out an application form promptly. Two workshops will be held on November 14th and 15th, 2024 for principal roles. The workshops are highly encouraged for the roles of Ramona, Alessandro, and Senora. There is no cost to attend the workshops. Auditioning for all speaking roles will be held on December 8th and 9th, 2024. For all those auditioning for speaking roles, you must request “sides” for the roles you wish to audition for and the sides need to be committed to memory (off-book) by the auditions in December 2024.
When filling out the audition application, you will find a list of characters. Please select the ones you'd like to audition for. If you're interested in a principal role, submit a headshot (photo) and one page resume with your application to Artistic Director Duane Minard at theyurokndn@gmail.com.
